5 Things your Instagram bio needs so customers can find your business
A few weeks ago I made a somewhat scary decision, when you're in the field of social media.
After months of back and forth, I decided I wanted to separate my personal Instagram account from my account for The Farmhouse Creative. The prospect of staring a big fat ZERO FOLLOWERS in the face is a little daunting, but as soon I created the account and began to collect some of the images and ideas I wanted to share, I knew it was the right decision.
Even though the "mascot" of my business is this farm on the hill, the shift from talking about sheep chores and my #tinynaturalist to giving advice on simplifying your social media strategy felt awkward, at best.
Separating the two has given me the freedom to talk about both unique parts of my life without worrying what my friends and followers might think of the switch.
I sometimes feel like the plumber who has a leaky sink. When you spend your days pouring into other people's businesses, it can be easy to put your own accounts and growth on the back burner. But I've enjoyed the fun of establishing a new space online.
One of the most important parts of a healthy Instagram account that's poised to welcome new clients, customers and followers is a well-crafted bio. It's the first place people will look and most likely one of the biggest decision-makers on whether they feel like they connect with you and want to follow.
So make sure you're putting those few lines of text to work for you and your business. Before you post one more photo, give your bio a makeover with these 5 important steps to the perfect Instagram bio.
BONUS TIP: Wonder how people get perfect line breaks and spacing in their bios? Write them in the Notes app on your phone and then copy + paste into your bio on Instagram!
